Prince of Peace Preschool provides an atmosphere in which each child may grow, develop and express himself in a positive manner. It is to be an educational experience in an atmosphere of warm, Christian love. Providing your child with a positive, creative and safe learning environment is a key part of our preschool program.

The preschool staff understands the important role we play in developing a foundation for your child’s early education. Materials and activities are carefully selected to be developmentally appropriate for preschoolers and the teachers give careful attention to the needs and differences of the individual child. The daily preschool program provides a learning environment to encourage the progression of socialization skills, motor skills and emotional development while encouraging independence, self-expression and listening skills. Our students are prepared for kindergarten through learning areas of numbers, math, letters, writing, reading, colors, and shapes. In addition, children will actively explore the environment to learn about social studies, science, and foreign language. Music, art, and reading stories are also part of the daily routine. The program will help each child develop confidence and to feel good about his/her relationships with other children.

Staff

ms-jayneOur teachers are researchers, observers and co-constructors of knowledge.  While investigations emerge from children’s interests and ideas, teachers create meaningful learning experiences in negotiation with the children.  Our teachers are documenters, capturing the stories of children’s experiences and the progression of their developing understandings.  Our teachers are collaborators, supporting social relationships which include children, educators, families and the community.  Our teachers are life-long learners, committed to reflection on their practice and to ongoing professional development.

We are proud to have a passionate and dedicated team of faculty and staff with whom we can embark on the journey of learning.
